Jess bailed so it was just Fernando and I back at the Establishment (hence no photos).
We were both shattered from the bush walk so we just hung out for a while, having drinks & chatting before getting into the dancing. Then we bobbed around a bit, tried to copy some others and had a giggle, actually lots of giggles, it was excellent fun.
Then I got asked to dance by this guy who we’d actually seen earlier, and to be honest, who we’d been admiring because he had some …

bike ride in the Hunter Valley

Ahead of the iMedia Brand Summit and ad:tech breakfast briefing Scott and I went bike riding around the Hunter. It was a picture-perfect day: sun shiny with a few clouds, bit of a breeze, ideal. Scott had just flown in from LA and I’d gone to the airport early to get him, so we were both ready to shift some energy. We pinged out of the Cypress Lakes Resort, I’d taken Lola (of course) and Scott had a slightly bashed, but sweet, polka dot Cannondale from the KOM boys.

salsa night

You know how if you think about it you only see one colour in the room.. that happens with loads of things eh..? Thought about rock climbing and *poof* everyone’s been be-laying & chalking up every Friday night for ages. Thought about picking up latin dancing again and *poof* everyone’s been cha cha & merengueing their Tuesday nights away for ages.

interview with a Sydney cab driver…

Caught a taxi back from North Sydney this evening and found myself with a keen-to-talk driver. Not sure how this always happens to me … A bit of vanilla chit chat, he was quite proudly Silver Service, and then I thought of Oliver and decided to interview the guy on some of the, let’s say, ‘major issues’ that we have with taxis in Sydney

Sydney City2Surf

The City2Surf is a legendary Sydney race. In its 40th year and welcoming 80,000 participants, it is the biggest race in the world, and a massive Sydney event. I’ve not had the chance to participate before, injury threatened to keep me out this year, but all good and I’m so glad to have been part of this.

A crisp (cold), beautiful Sydney day and proceedings kicked off in proper Aussie style; good camaraderie on the free public transport between more serious competitors and those intending to stroll the distance. The organisation was excellent, well – it had to be. And I mean, really, the size of the event impressed you from the start, just the volume of people spilling from every street towards Hyde Park.

The Loft, Christmas in July High Tea

The Loft is a great bar located on Sydney’s sparkly Darling Harbour, with big squashy leather chairs and a delicious cocktail menu.

Melbourne Cup

Australia came to its usual unwritten-rule standstill on 3rd November for Melbourne Cup. Due to ‘company changes’ we were making a massive day of it, and it was awesome.
