I truly suck at gardening. When I attempted it last year I was tragic: bought all the kit (yes, you heard, kit), paid heaps of attention for the first three weeks, got no return and gave up on the whole project.
So this year the pots that I once loved so much have sat getting weathered, overgrown, vandalised (oh yeah, rubbish in them, footprint in one!), but mostly ignored. Until Mum arrived.

I’ve been a bit remiss with the little things and left them to the force of nature. Fortunately there’s been a helluva lotta rain and sun :) So when I came to check in (and really, the pots are in my back yard, there’s no reason for this to have taken SO long!) things had moved on a bit…

When I was back home in June we had a few lunches with lettuce picked from the garden that Mum had grown from seed. I was SO impressed. And they tasted delicious.

Here at home #2 – wicked Manly pad – I don’t exactly have the same, er, infrastructure and facilities as Mum but I thought I’d give it a go anyway… I’d seen Flower Power when I’d been out on my bike and liked the look of it so I popped there and it was a good choice! Loads of stuff, and most importantly, nice, friendly staff …

Loaded with gardening equipment… and somewhere in there are the usual body board, wetsuit and towel too. Poor Laz…
