treats in Turin

Some of it was planned, some spontaneous and some surprising. There were so many hours of excellence I couldn’t believe it was one weekend. Ocean swimming, delicious food, fun with friends, favourite band in concert, ridiculous partying, amazing scenery, trying new things, heaps of coffee. And along the way Nad wondered whether we should do white water rafting and a hot air balloon ride too. Living for the moment anyone???

Highlights: Madrid

An unexpected week chillin’ in surely one of the word’s most relaxed capital cities. I don’t know how a week with no agenda, no committments, no expectations went so quickly…
The weather was unbelievably good, the people were brilliantly friendly, it was a perfect week to stroll, drink cafe solo, buy cheap clothes, nap and then hit the cervezas. Muy bueno.

Seven days turning sleepy, snowy Norway into the new girly holiday destination. We didn’t mean to have that much fun, we just couldn’t stop ourselves…

Highlights: the friendly’n’funny people we met, finding the arctic equivalent of Pizza Hut, dog sledding & snow planting, the Northern Lights (photos coming soon I hope) and finding after 48 hours that we no longer cared that beer was eight quid a pint.

With Kate in town for just 24 hours we went in pursuit of fun and decided to mix it in Shoreditch. We got our fun, plenty of it, and some of the best food I’ve had since being back in the UK.
The crowd was pretty funny – deeply, deeply, archeologically cool, lots of focus on primary colours, and non too interested in our main-stream giggly chat. It seems we don’t talk Hoxton…

getting motorbike cbt

Bikes are fun. So I went to get my cbt licence with Twickenham bike school, which is secretly in Sunbury-on-Thames.
I trained manual so now I can ride anything up to 125cc manual for the next two years, oh, but I have to have ‘Ls’. Learning the gears was alright, I struggled most with steering which was pretty funny. The instructor was wicked, made everything comfortable, easy and interesting. At the end of the day we rode out on the road (aaaaah) and I got up to …

salsa night in London

Man this is a busy class (Salsa Partytime, Wimbledon). There were three different levels of Bachata to choose from, and then five of Salsa! I reckon there were around 130 people there, that’s a lot isn’t it.
My love affair with Bachata is showing no signs of receding – I just can’t let go. And it does really feel like I’m cheating on Salsa; all the sexy, up close, subtle, hippy movements, and the way they sneak the Bachata tracks inbetween the Salsa ones, ha ha. Actually …

Highlights: France

Six perfect days at Lake Annecy with my little giselle.
Doing all our favourite things but attempting them at a gentle, relaxed pace.
Breathing the amazing air, drinking (pore-ously and pot-ably) the delicious water, baking in the gorgeous sunshine and then, unfortunately getting soaked in full on mountain rainfalls.
Et après…
Two days in Paris with lovely Kate, doing, er, not a lot but loving every second.
