Seven days turning sleepy, snowy Norway into the new girly holiday destination. We didn’t mean to have that much fun, we just couldn’t stop ourselves…

Highlights: the friendly’n'funny people we met, finding the arctic equivalent of Pizza Hut, dog sledding & snow planting, the Northern Lights (photos coming soon I hope) and finding after 48 hours that we no longer cared that beer was eight quid a pint.

With Kate in town for just 24 hours we went in pursuit of fun and decided to mix it in Shoreditch. We got our fun, plenty of it, and some of the best food I’ve had since being back in the UK.
The crowd was pretty funny – deeply, deeply, archeologically cool, lots of focus on primary colours, and non too interested in our main-stream giggly chat. It seems we don’t talk Hoxton…

Bikes are fun. So I went to get my cbt licence with Twickenham bike school, which is secretly in Sunbury-on-Thames.
I trained manual so now I can ride anything up to 125cc manual for the next two years, oh, but I have to have ‘Ls’. Learning the gears was alright, I struggled most with steering which was pretty funny. The instructor was wicked, made everything comfortable, easy and interesting. Man this is a busy class (Salsa Partytime, Wimbledon). There were three different levels of Bachata to choose from, and then five of Salsa! I reckon there were around 130 people there, that’s a lot isn’t it.
My love affair with Bachata is showing no signs of receding – I just can’t let go. And it does really feel like I’m cheating on Salsa; all the sexy, up close, subtle, hippy movements, and the way they sneak the Bachata tracks inbetween the Salsa ones, ha ha. Actually …

Six perfect days at Lake Annecy with my little giselle.
Doing all our favourite things but attempting them at a gentle, relaxed pace.
Breathing the amazing air, drinking (pore-ously and pot-ably) the delicious water, baking in the gorgeous sunshine and then, unfortunately getting soaked in full on mountain rainfalls.

Two days in Paris with lovely Kate, doing, er, not a lot but loving every second.

Went to the Watussi gig at The Basement last night. SUCH fun.
Support was from a Peruvian band and a Brazilian samba group with a party spirit that warmed the place through.
Watussi were superb. I won’t pretend to know heaps about their back catalogue but they were passionate, fun and godammit those boys can even make percussion sexy. My favourite was the first encore number, they absolutely nailed it.

Night out at Slide cabaret for the official launch of the new charity, Softacare.
Wicked, wicked performances, good food, lots of white wine, good chat.
And rounded it all off at the Boat Shed, natch!

Jess and I went to see Cat Empire at the Metro last night. There will be way smarter, cooler, less hungover people who can comment on the music and performance I’ll just tell you that it was an amazing gig with a lot of energy, and outstanding vocal and instrumental sounds.
