Hunter and the Bear

photo 5What’s the deal with unplanned nights out that are THE best?? In Shoreditch, no direction (in life or for the evening), few vague pints here and there, no where good. Then, boom Floripa – a fun, cool Brazilian bar; boom – their streetfood menu is spot on; boom – they’ve got mini-gig night, three artists playing twice each; major boom – Hunter and the Bear.
I know comparisons aren’t a great way to talk about music, but I’m not Jools Holland so maybe you’ll let this one slide… they’re very Mumford & Sons, folk pop, husky melodies, good guitars. They were so much fun, and they were so intense, I felt like I was best friends with them straight away, and you just try and stop Nad dancing… After a few numbers I’d also say a bit The Script, and a bit Kings of Leon. The former because of the pop-ness, the later because of the gravely-ness. Check their website and Facebook for gigs because you can still see them for free :) but I don’t doubt they’ll be at a stadium or hoe-down near you soon.
