bike riding Richmond Park (again)

I never got bored of bike riding to Palm Beach and I don’t suppose I’ll get bored of bike riding around Richmond Park.
Today was beautifully clear and the air was a bit cooler than recently, which is just how I like my days. My lovely new bike needed a lovely spin and he got it. The roads were clear enough, I took York Road instead of St John’s Hill, then Roehampton Lane instead of Sheen Lane (although that was a mistake).
The park was superb, saw some teenage looking bambis and a lot of boys rugby training. Also met an American lady, Anne, who was keen to cycle together. We chatted away and she shared some observations, 1) my bike shorts have holes in (thanks) 2) the park was busy (true) 3) I am a strong rider (new news but the evidence is mounting). She was saying how she’s keen to train to be fitter on the bike and so on. That’s cool but I asked her why she needed to be any fitter than she is, given that she can already bike ride happily around the park on a sunny day. She didn’t have an answer but I hope it made her realise that she’s got all the bike riding joy she needs right now! Anyway, maybe we’ll see each other again for more chat, was definitely nice to be with someone on the ‘road’.
Went for a latte in Sheen afterwards which was delightful because I like Sheen and I’ve been meaning to try the Gatehouse coffee shop for a while.
Smashing morning. But clearly too smashing to take pictures. Sorry… xbikerluce
