SOSA (day off): enjoying

15 April 2012 2,500 views 4 Comments

I’ve been using one word for these posts because in a lot of our lessons we’ve been encouraged to use one word to summarise, e.g. how you feel now, what you think of the course so far. it makes you engage with your actual emotions and think about how you want to express that.

wake up nicely • spring around • sweet sweaty run • such a luxury to see the area – only been up here in the dark since i arrived n been dying to see everything • great to do something different with my body, Troy would call it ‘right-side, yang, masculine, solar’, i agree, and a girl’s gotta get her balance! • honestly haven’t seen my place in sunlight so even showering is a different experience :) • breakfast here, another first • wicked wicked wicked banana pancakes. delicious. lime & honey, yes please • except… they’re green, yup green (next week i’ll take a photo) • according to Chang it’s from a leaf. my culinary skills are in a box right now but even i know there aren’t leaves in pancakes • not gonna argue, they’re delicious, plus Aiyu asks if i want more ‘you do so much Lucy, have more pancakes’. be rude to say no • first cup of coffee in six days • think i detoxed the coffee outta my system this week (lingering head ache days four and five) so is good to, er, retox • hang around • writing • working • taking photos • relaxed • change • ride my bike around same rice paddies to take photos • meet some of the girls from yoga: Olivia, Sarah, Emmy, Monica • lunch at Sari Organic • such a beautiful spot, we’ve got our own raised hut • feast: coconut water, shared papaya and Thai salads, stir-fried vegetables & tofu with rice & peanut sauce, ginger cocktail • good chat, good goss • lovely to be hanging out without an agenda hanging over us • wander through town together • again, nice to see the town by proper daylight and without being pressured to do something • ride my bike back home • more terrace action • starts to rain • starts to pour • goes mental raining • more writing etc • time for more food • roll into Ubud to somewhere Monica pointed out earlier • crackers, sambal, Indonesian veg curry, mint & lemon drink • chat to a nice couple • see Regina and Anana, we talk about Sri Lankan curry! • home • later than i thought.. • more terrace time • yin yoga on my bedroom tiles • ah, that was nice…
