HIM T-40: beginning of training plan

So, today the ‘training plan’ really began for the HIM. 40 days to go. I won’t elaborate on the event itself because I am terrified. Also only Julien knows about it at the moment.

Roughly speaking I need to achieve the following:

  • weight loss (thanks to additional European pounds)
  • practice doing the distances in all elements
  • try to get faster at the distances
  • remain injury free
  • plan, purchase, prepare all necessary kit

Despite the pressure of the above all I actually achieved today (given jet lag etc) was staying awake, a long walk with heavy bags, not having a nervous breakdown thinking about the above and (this is the shocking part) deciding to give up coffee.

Let’s see what tomorrow brings. Headaches and serious panic at this stage very likely…
